Bending Over...Again
I know that politics is Ned's territory but I have some thoughts on the cabinet confirmation sessions in Congress of Rice and Gonzales. I would like to pose a perennial question: why do the democrats keep giving in? I just...

Convention: Day One
Last night, I decided, along with some friends, to partake of the revelry surrounding the Democratic National Convention. First, we went to the Red Hat(one of my favorite neighborhood bars, located behind the State House) where the Young Democrats of...

Limp Biscuit Sucks
I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I have to say a few things about Limp Biscuit. I was just watching "All Things Rock" on MTV, an hour long show devoted to showing rock videos. Does anyone remember when...

Champ: Monster or Myth?
"Champ" is the elusive, possibly fictional creature dwelling in Lake Champlain. In a recent trip to my home state of Vermont, I began pondering the existence of such a creature. Many theories came to mind. Could it be a dinosaur,...

American Splendor
"Ordinary life is pretty complex stuff," says Paul Giamatti as Harvey Pekar. Pekar goes on to be a pioneer in comic books by basing his writing on just that premise. In this case, an ordinary life has been transformed into...

Tbone... About

About T-BONE

My name is T-bone and I’m a suckaholic...it feels good to get that off my chest. Let the healing begin:

I am originally from a picturesque small town in Vermont, but I now reside in Boston. I met and befriended Evil Monkey, Presley, Ned, and Megnut in college, where I majored in Math and Economics. I have been a huge Suckahs fan for a while and have been known to comment sporadically. At last my voice will be heard, my strong opinions and convictions shall be vented!

My main area of interest is film. Some of my friends accuse me of being a “film elitist,” I don’t see myself that way. The fact is that I am not interested in seeing most of the movies that are put out by Hollywood. I can still go to the movies for pure escapism (e.g. Bond films). When compared to the average American movie-goer, I guess I am picky. I can still watch a movie for pure entertainment, but I usually crave movies that incite thought and discussion. Maybe my friends are right...

Another passion of mine is music. My tastes lie mostly in classic rock but I also enjoy a lot of the new bands that are labeled “saviors rock and roll.” I also play guitar-- I own 2 acoustics (Martin and Yamaha) and one electric (Fender Strat Squier).

I am the kind of person that tries to avoid trends, especially those of popular culture. I still refuse to absorb Harry Potter in any medium. However, in some cases of trends I tend to cave (e.g. cell phones). I guess my feeling is that if most people like something that doesn’t necessarily make it good—in fact it makes me extremely skeptical. I do enjoy a lot of the same things that the masses enjoy-- but then again “Titanic” is the top-grossing film of all time...I rest my case.
